Role Overview:

The Instance Life Cycle (ILC) Department hosts all of Murex’s service offers and aims for Murex to be the partner of choice to our clients.

The key vision of ILC Architecture is that with Murex involvement over the full life cycle of the instance, the client can optimize TCO and get the Benefits/Values from time to market innovations launch (while increasing revenue and protecting Murex Position). Our mission is to Continuously improve the quality of the portfolio of instances during the whole life cycle : sustainable design (faster, better, cheaper and more flexible) to reduce time to value, better knowledge of the instance usage and the business real needs, better upgrades for shorter time to market.

To support our transformation, we are looking to hire a Solution Architect to join the team! You may be based in Paris offices to drive the deployment of activities for a portfolio of clients in the EMEA region.

Today, more than ever, we often have to solve complex problems in the Murex instance life cycle (presales, projects, productions) that requires the team to bring together knowledge from different areas of expertise.

Hence, the need for individuals with a T-shaped expertise; someone who possesses deep domain expertise in at least one specific area (S4C or PAC), together with the ability to use this knowledge to cut across the silos, is what the Architecture domain is looking for to contribute to the growth of the team.

The Technical Architect in Murex is someone who has the curiosity and ability to collect and master expertise in many disciplines and she/he is able to draw on that wide knowledge base to recognize patterns, connect dots and improvise solutions. She/he is able to look at the complex problem in its globality and break it down to smaller solvable pieces.

She/he provides the link between the variety of different experts PAC, S4C, CEM, Test, Project methodology, functional streams…) helping to explain to each of them why the work they are doing relates to the work other people are doing, sometime making the non-obvious connection between things. The characteristics of a solution architect is a high openness to new experience, a thirst for cognition.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Main Contact to the client design board in charge of major cross business and technology design decisions
  • Work with Project Managers ensuring smooth delivery on all projects, extensions by sharing insights, knowledge, and understanding of the client’s strengths and expertise
  • Seek collaborative opportunities, both internally and externally, identifying occasions to enhance a project by working across teams at Murex
  • Define test and migration strategy with optimal coverage of functional & technical components
  • Assess Production instance quality in collaboration with Product champions/community of experts and Production managers to contribute to CET plan strategies
  • Contribute to presales activities

As an active member the Architecture Domain, you will also need to contribute to the development of the domain:

  • Share awareness on market and industry trends
  • On-board Architects through building solution expertise on your strength areas or on specificities of its geographic regions
  • Participate actively in initiatives and innovation around methodologies (Agile, CI, UaaS, Test, Data migration,…) with other teams (Service Offers, PM, Functional and technical domains)

To be successful in this role: 

 

  • At least 10 years of experience as a Software Architect ideally in finance environment. 
  • Confirmed stream lead experience on complex implementations. 
  • Project methodologies : Agile, CI/CD.
  • Strong background in software development (SDLC, programing language, best practices…).
  • Strong knowledge of Continuous implementation, automatization, and testing.
  • Strong background in Implementations and connectivity with financial tools.
  • Broad experience in capital markets software for trading, risk management, processing, or consulting.
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities to understand complex issues and be able to either dive into details with experts or summarize for non-experts.
  • Ability to work outside of his/her comfort zone, to foresee challenges and dependencies.
  • Ability to identify trends and recommend a course of action to resolve/improve/enhance the usage of our solution.
  • Ability to manage complex client relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
