Splunk Developer and Architect - develop your skills and expertise in collaboration with the Murex team.

 

The team:

 

The Production & Architecture Consulting (PAC) team, part of the Product Development Division, ensures the continuous technical excellence of the Murex platform: MX.3. The team intervenes at different stages of the product lifecycle and owns Splunk@Murex used in various domains of the company from internal Infrastructure management to MX.3 development continuous monitoring, MX.3 non-functional testing, and MX.3 production support. PAC team members enjoy diverse and challenging missions due to their technical focus and proximity to clients, functional and development teams.

 

What you'll do:

 

As a Splunk Developer and Architect, you will contribute to running and maintaining Splunk@Murex to ensure that projects meet organizational standards and user requirements. 

 

  • Create Advanced Splunk Dashboards from specifications from multiple teams across the organization. This will include creating SPL, Source types, Dashboards, Indexes, Data models, Lookups, Macros, Tokens, etc.
  • Understand complex data results and quantify them into analysis to be integrated into a Splunk Dashboard.
  • Supporting existing Dashboards and helping existing users with the day-to-day issue of using Splunk.
  • Enhance and maintain multiple Splunk clusters and Standalone on-premises installs. Onboarding new Data, create and debug forwarders, Creating new indexers, Search heads, Master nodes, license master, etc. A-Z of running a Splunk Cluster.
  • Create bash shell script for back-end cron cobs. 
  • The candidate must be prepared for international travel.
  • Understand technical outputs such as “Performance logging”, CPU, Garbage Collection, Network, etc., produced from the financial application MX 3.1
  • Work on a highly driven team to deliver rapid development for multiple clients.
  • Work with the development and product teams to understand the Non-functional requirements.
  • Plan test schedules in accordance with project scope or delivery dates
  • Monitor bug resolution efforts and escalate identified risks as and when they occur.

 

Who you are:

 

  • 2.1 Bachelor’s degree or Masters in computer science or equivalent 
  • 2+ years technical consulting experience
  • Experience with SPLUNK or other “Operational Intelligence” software (Training will be given)
  • Experience with Unix (e.g. Solaris) & Linux (e.g. Red Hat)
  • Experience with JEE/Java platforms
  • Experience Scripting (e.g., Shell Bash)
  • Exposure to and having used Non-Functional test tools to simulate running multiple processes in parallel.
  • Programming skills: Exposure to some of the following Java, JavaScript, Python, C/C++, Groovy
  • Relational Databases (e.g. Oracle, Sybase), SQL
  • Interpersonal skills, enthusiasm and flexibility are key assets for this position.
