SOFTWARE ENGINEER - develop your skills and expertise in collaboration with the Murex team
Start your career in Software Engineering at Murex. We are hiring for our January 2024 intake.
The team:
The Dublin development team as part of the Product Development Division, ensures the continuous excellence of the Murex platform: MX.3. supporting development of modules of the Murex platform, working closely with the product management to develop new functionality, rapidly solve problems and enhance existing aspects of the application. The team is split into Client Support, responsible for developing small to medium timescale developments based on client requirements. Project Development focused on longer timescale developments adding new functionality and developing new modules. Performance and Architecture focuses on technical and performance projects. Quality Dev dedicated writing Unit Tests and developing frameworks for quality.
What you'll do:
- Develop high-quality, testable and maintainable code with best-practice design.
- Team spirit & work practices: Motivation, initiative to work within a team (willing to improve work practices)
- Learning: Ability to learn new technologies, development practices and patterns.
- Willingness to travel periodically when required for planning activities
- Technologies: Advantageous to have experience in Git, REST Java services, Spring, Spring Boot, Maven, Gemfire, Real-time stream processing engines: Storm, Spark.
- Java development lifecycle: Quality, testability, build, deployment.
- SAFe: Experience developing in a SAFe agile train.
Who you are:
- Open to candidates with 12 months industry experience.
- Degree or Masters in Computer Science / Maths / Software Engineering
- Internship would be advantageous
- Experience with 3-tier architectures
- Experience with multi-threaded applications.
- Experience with distributed systems
- Experience with micro services and web technologies, for example, REST, HATEOAS, CSS, HTML, and JavaScript.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, for example, Scrum or Kanban.
- Fluent English is essential
- Ability to prioritize tasks, to ensure deadlines are achieved.
- Ability to work on both short-term and long-term projects simultaneously
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to quickly understand business requirements
- Ambitious, motivated, eager to develop within a team environment.
- Display personal commitment, effort, motivation and initiative in all aspects of work
